We held our AGM in the hall on the 18th May and one member of the community attended.
VHT Chairman Marie described the difficult year for the charity but thanked all the trustees, administrator Jo and our cleaner Natalie for their support and hard work. The trustees in turn, of course, thanked Marie for her leadership too. Thanks were also extended to Josie and Jane for their help with the accounts and to Elaine who we greatly miss.
Our financial accounts were less affected than they might otherwise have been due to having taken advantage of COVID-19 grants and the Government furlough scheme. Nevertheless, as Scene goes to press, we continue to manage the hall under Government restrictions and we know this has been tough for hirers and class members.
We are pleased to have worked with Coffee on the Corner and Westbank to secure the reopening of the café and very much hope that this will thrive and receive good support from the community.
October last year marked 100 years since the foundation stones of the Hall were laid and we had hoped to be able to commemorate that. Unfortunately that was not possible, but we hope to be able to celebrate the anniversary of the opening the hall instead
